Aegina island is located in the center of the Saronic Gulf, surrounded by Agistri, Methana, Troizina, Poros and the coast of mainland Attica. With a total area of 82.63 square kilometers, it is the second largest island of Argosaronicos gulf. The length of its coasts is 57 km and has the shape of an almost equilateral triangle. Its North East end is 10.5 nautical miles from the mouth of the port of Piraeus, the North West is 12 nautical miles from Epidaurus, and its South end is 9 nautical miles from Poros.
