Map of Sifnos

Sifnos as we see on the map of the island, located in the western Cyclades between Serifos and Kimolos. It lies about 80 nautical miles from Piraeus. It has an area of ​​73,942 square kilometers. Its coastline is almost 70 km. Sifnos is crossed by four parallel mountain ranges with main peaks,x Profitis Ilias, in the center, and Agios Symeon in the north.
The soil of Sifnos consists of granite rocks, clayey sandstone or slate, limestone, etc. It also contains mineral wealth such as ores of iron, copper, lead, manganese, magnesium, etc. During the antiquity, Sifnos also had gold and silver mines as well as quarries of Sifnos rock from which famous tableware such as glasses were made.
