Ilia is a prefecture of west Peloponnese, its capital is the town of Pyrgos. Ilia was almost destroyed from forest fires in August 2007. In Ilia is the ancient city of Olympia. From Kyllini Ilia is connected with the Ionian island of Zakynthos.
