 Peloponnese is one of the largest Penisulas of Greece. In Peloponnese was developed in the Ancient times the famous civilisation of Mycenae, in the area of Argolis or Argolida are the palaces of the Mycenaean King Agamemnon. Most of the Greek myths are taking place in the Peloponnese. In the area of Laconia was the famous Sparta in the same prefecture belongs the historic area of Mani. Peloponnese has some of the most famous mountains of Greece like the mount Taygetos over Sparta and many rivers. The largest city of Peloponnese is Patras in the prefecture of Achaia. The historic city of Corinth is the capital of the Peloponnesian prefecture of Korinthia and Kalamata the capital of Messinia. In the area of Ilia is located Olympia and the capital of the prefecture is Pyrgos,  the capital of Arkadia prefecture is Tripoli.
