Poros is a Greek island in the Saronic Gulf. It is very close to Argolis ιν Peloponnese.
With an area of 33 km² and a circumference of 42 km, it had 3,500 inhabitants in 1995 and constitutes the bulk of the municipality that bears its name.

Poros is mainly separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow channel (passage or poros in Greek) 250 m to 400 m wide. The crossing is carried out throughout the day in water taxis or in boats fitted out for vehicles.
