Rethymnon is the smallest county of Crete its Capital is Rethymno. On the map of Rethymnon we can locate all towns and villages of the county. Rethymno town is the capital of the homonymous prefecture of Crete and the seat of the metropolitan homonymous Municipality of the region of Crete.
From 1999 to 2010 it was the seat of the Municipality of Rethymno. It shows a lot of tourist traffic during the summer. The population of the city is 55,525 inhabitants. It is the third largest city in Crete after Heraklion and Chania.
