Serapis
Greek-Egyptian
god, also called Sarapis, who was created by Ptolemy I out of Osiris and Apis
to protect the Greek immigrants of Egypt, especially Alexandria.
Serapis was a god of the underworld, with similarities to Hades
and Dionysus.
He was married to Isis, and connected to medicine and healing.
During the Hellenistic
years he was also worshipped on Delos.
