Agamemnon and Clytemnestra's daughter. After Clytemnestra had murdered Agamemnon and ruled Mycenae with her lover Aegisthus Electra saved her brother Orestes by sending him away. She then stayed on in Mycenae, enduring her mothers and lover's mockery. Electra kept sending secret messages to her brother, encouraging him to revenge their father, which he did seven years later. Electra then married Orestes friend Pylades.
