Eos
The "rosen
fingered" dawn, Eos, was the sister of Helios and Selene. She turned
up on the sky to announce Helios, and before her Phosphorus, the light bearer
(Lucifer) would rise.
Eos was fond of young men, and abducted several of them. One of them Tithonus,
was given eternal life but not eternal youth by Zeus, and so he kept growing
older and weaker but not able to die. They had a son, Memnon, who was king
of the Ethiopians, and was killed by Achilles.
The Romans called her Aurora.
