Telemachus
("distant
fighter")
Odysseus and
Penelope's son, who was born just before his father's departure for the Trojan
war, and who searched for his father when he was old enough. He visited both
Nestor and Menelaus for information, but returned to Ithaca alone. Finally,
when Odysseus was back, he helped his father kill the suitors.
According to one myth, he married Circe after his half brother Telegonos (Circes
son with Odysseus) had killed Odysseus and brought back his fathers dead body
to her.
