The region of Epirus is located in northwestern Greece and is one of the most traditional and picturesque regions of the country. It is an area with intense mountainous landscapes, a rich natural environment and a great historical and cultural heritage.

Epirus is characterized by the high mountains of Pindos, which include the massif of Smolika, Grammos and Tzoumerka.
In the area are also the impressive gorges of Vikos and Aoos, as well as the well-known Pamvotida lake.

The economy of Epirus is mainly based on agriculture, animal husbandry and fishing. Tourism, particularly ecotourism and walking tourism, are also important sectors, with the region attracting visitors for its natural landscapes and traditional culture.

The capital of Epirus is Ioannina, a city known for its university life, its traditional center and its historic lake. Other important areas include Zagori, Parga, Sivota and Konitsa.
