Archidamus II( ? - 427 BC)

King of Sparta 476 - 427 BC who lead expeditions against the Athenians in the first years of the Peloponnesian War.

Archidamus II had tried to avoid war with Athens because of his friendship with Pericles but was finally forced to attack.

After his death his son Agis II succeeded him
