Moraitika & Messonghi travel guide

Moraitika and Messonghi are beach resorts that have virtually merged to form one massive beach hotel complex on the east coast of Corfu.

The area is on a flat coastal plain about 30 kilometres south of Corfu Town. Moraitika is the busier end of the resort with large hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.

Access to the long beach is down small lanes off the main road but parking is very limited. The beach is mostly sand with a little shingle. There are plenty of sunbeds but it can get very busy.

Moraitika beach has showers and changing rooms with toilets in the tavernas. There are also plenty of watersports. Taxis are plentiful and there are buses daily into Corfu Town.

Messonghi is the more peaceful end of Moraitika. It lies about a kilometre to the south but it’s essentially the same place.

The beach is long and sandy with some shingle and pebble found under the water.

There are plenty of sunbeds and other facilities include changing rooms and showers. The beach has plenty of watersports including paragliding.

Messonghi has a large supermarket and plenty of restaurants and bars both in the resort and along Messonghi beach.
