Agia Marina is the most important and lively town in Leros, which is popular even in winter, where there are many restaurants, bars and shops.

Agia Marina is located inside a large lagoon on the east coast of the island and is dominated by the castle of Panagia, which dates back to the time of the crusaders.

The capital of Leros, Agia Marina, joined Platanos (administrative center of the island) and Panteli over the years and are now inextricably linked districts where you will find the largest market of the island.

The castle definitely deserves a visit, especially for the beautiful view that you enjoy, but also for the small church in its interior, one of the most important of the island.

The best time to visit it is undoubtedly the sunset. At Agia Marina there is also a small tourist port where the boats and catamarans from Kos, Patmos and Lipsi arrive.

Every morning there is the fish market. Immediately outside the town there are some beautiful beaches very popular especially by locals like Alinda and Krithoni.

Agia Marina is a settlement with excellent architecture, neoclassical buildings and a Dodecanese aura, which will surely impress you.

At one end, the picturesque carnagio with the perfectly Lerian mansion, the byzantine remains of Bourtzi and the lighthouse with the wide pier and the boats. At the other end the picturesque windmill with several classic mansions.
