Each beach in Donousa has its own character, from secluded coves accessible only by boat to stretches of sand lined with tamarisk trees offering shade to those wanting a break from the Greek sun. Stavros beach

Stavros is a sandy beach with turquoise waters located in the port of Stavros. It is one of the most popular beaches of Donoussa and has easy access and amenities. Despite the fact that Stavros is the port of Donoussa, it has a wonderful beach with crystal clear blue waters and a sandy beach. It is located just 1 minute from the port and is ideal especially if you have small children with you.

Fikio beach

Fikio is a sandy beach with emerald waters and rock formations located on the southeast side of the island. The beach is secluded and ideal for those looking for tranquility. It is accessible via a path from the village of Mersini.

Fykio beach is located very close to Livadi, this beautiful beach of Donoussa. Fykio is a very small beach that holds very few people, so if you plan to visit it you should keep that in mind. Surrounded by rocks that form caves, it is sandy with clear blue-green waters. Understandably, it has absolutely no organization so you should make sure you have everything you need (equipment and consumables) with you before visiting.

Access is possible either by hiking from paths or by boat from the sea. You will have to drive to Mersini and from there the path starts that ends at the beach after about 15 minutes of walking. It is, with the exception of a bit at the end, the same path that leads to Livadi. If you are in Livadi there is a 2nd path to lead you to Fykio. Finally, you can also arrive by boat or with one of the excursion boats that depart from the port of Stavros.

Kalotaritissa beach

Kalotaritissa is a large bay from the successive sandy beaches of Mesa Ammos, Sapunochromas and Vlychos located on the north-eastern side of the island. The bay of Kalotaritissa is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of Donoussa. Actually, in the settlement of Kalotraitissa, there is not just one beach but four. Vlyho, Sapunochoma, Trypiti and Stefanokavos which is only accessible from the sea. All four are unique and therefore attract many visitors.

Mesa Ammos beach 

Mesa Ammos and Sapunochroma are two large golden sandy beaches with turquoise waters located in the bay of Kalotaritissa on the north side of the island and offer a panoramic view of the island. The beaches are secluded, ideal for those seeking tranquility.

Sapunochoma is the first beach that one encounters when arriving at Kalotaritissa. It is small in area and has pebbles. Immediately after is Vlycho with fine pebbles and calm waters. Trypiti is the most exposed to the wind, it has fine sand and a passable path will take you there.

Kedros beach

Enchanting beach-bay with many free campers, relaxed mood, wonderful waters and sugary sand. In addition, it also has one of the best beach bars in the Cyclades, Kedros, with excellent music, cocktails, salads and everything else you need. To its right is a path that leads to smaller beaches and rocks, where you can dive or explore its caves.

Just a 20-minute walk from Stavros, if you don’t want to walk, the boat that leaves the port also stops and stops at almost all the beaches. But prefer walking. It’s a very nice route.

If you have a mask with you you will be able to see the wreck of the German ship that was sunk by British aircraft in World War II and is just a few meters from the shore. Above the beach there is a beach bar that serves drinks and light snacks. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Donoussa and is accessible via a small path that starts from the village of Stavros.

Trypiti beach

Trypiti is a sandy beach with crystal clear waters on the north side of the island. It is a secluded beach ideal for those looking for peace and seclusion. Trypiti beach is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Nestled along the Aegean Sea, this secluded paradise offers breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Also, there is no kind of organization, so you have to take everything you need with you. From the settlement of Kalotaritissa, the path that starts from the left of the first beach leads you.
Surrounded by rugged cliffs and crystal-clear waters, it provides an idyllic setting for relaxation and tranquility. The untouched natural beauty of the area creates a sense of serenity that is hard to find elsewhere.

Limenari

Limenari is a small and quiet beach in Donoussa with deep green waters and white pebbles in the south of the island. The remains of an ancient fortified Geometric settlement were discovered on the surrounding heights, while one of the island’s two windmills can be seen from the beach. Because it does not have easy access, it does not gather many people and thus remains for a few and romantics.

Very quiet beach with large pebbles and waters the color of alcohol. Quite different from the sandy beaches and an alternative, for more discerning travelers. Don’t forget to stock up on the necessary supplies.

Amoudi beach

Ammoudi beach is located on the north side of Donoussa and is known for its extraordinary beauty. With white, soft sand and waters that shine like crystals, it offers a unique swimming and relaxing experience. Guests can enjoy the sun on the sunbeds and umbrellas located on the beach, or even enjoy a cool drink in the nearby tavern.

Ammoudi is a pebbly beach with crystal clear waters. The beach is isolated and can be reached by the path that starts from the village of Stavros.

Livadi beach

Livadi is a white sand bay with crystal clear waters located on the south side of the island. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Donoussa and is accessible via a small path that starts from the village of Mersini.

Wonderful wide beach with fine sand, which spreads out generously below Mersini. A favorite choice of free campers, who when not sleeping in their shades, hammocks and tents, go down to the beach without their bathing suits for a swim. However, in the evenings they set up great beach parties with cold beers, guitars and dancing.

You can get ther on foot from Mersini, from where you arrive in about 20 minutes. Alternatively, very often a boat leaves from Stavros, the port of Donoussa.
