Discover the most enchanting beaches of Antiparos

The most popular and enchanting beaches in Antiparos are those of Psaraliki, which can be reached on foot from Chora. They are organized, with a beach bar. Classic options, also include the camping beach and Sifneikos Gialos that have views to Sifnos and a nice sunset, but sometimes the wind brings seaweed.

The most beautiful beaches are Agios Sostis and Faneromeni, with blue-green waters, but also Soros with its fine pebbles. By boat you will go to the islets of Despotiko and to Tiganakia islets between Paros and Antiparos, which have beautiful turquoise waters, while from Agios Georgios there are nearby kayak tours to the caves at Epitafios and the Despotico.

Glyfa is one of the favorite beaches that gathers a large volume of bathers, organized, with crystal clear waters and golden sand, just 3.5 km from the port with a cafe and a windsurfing school.

Apantima is sheltered from the winds, has a small and wonderful sandy beach and an organized beach bar. Soros beach is the largest and most popular, 8 km from the port. Swim in its clear and deep waters, it has fine pebbles and a variety of restaurants with traditional cuisine (a little before is Mikros Soros).

To the south, there is Sostis with sand and turquoise waters, everything you need for carefree diving. Under the chapel of Faneromeni, an idyllic shelter from the wind is revealed for a unique bath. In the western part of the island, are the Monasteries, two beaches between two hills with sand and an amazing seabed.

Agios Georgios beach

Agios Georgios beach is located on the western side of Antiparos, near the village of the same name, in a picturesque bay with a beautiful view of the church of the same name and the islet of Despotikos. Access is by car and bus. It is a small beach with fine sand, shallow water, no wind and part of it is with rocks and stones in the sea. It is organized in one spot with sunbeds and umbrellas and is ideal for diving and masking.

The beach does not have a refreshment bar or tavern, but in the port of Agios Georgios there are cafes and taverns where you can try local specialties and fresh fish. From the small harbor there are scheduled excursions with local boats to the nearby beaches of Despotikos, to the rock islands “Epitafios” – with their white vertical rocks, blue-green waters and sea caves. Famous is the Cave of the seal. Seals poke their heads out, swimming in Despotiko Cove and often greet the dolphins.

Agios Spyridonas beach

Agios Spyridonas beach is located on the northeast side of Antiparos and is the closest beach from the port. Access is by car or on foot. It is a large sandy beach, the shallowest on the island, windless, ideal for children, has natural shade from tamarisk trees and is partially organized. It is the most popular beach of the island due to its proximity to Chora and the panoramic view of Paros. It has cafes and taverns along the coast. Accommodations are available around the beach.

Apantima beach

Apantima beach is located on the eastern side of Antiparos, in a cove, immediately after the intersection that leads to Antiparos Cave. Access is by car and bus. It is a small sandy beach, sheltered from the wind, a beach bar with sunbeds and a restaurant, natural shade from tamarisk trees.

Camping beach

If there is one place where the old profile of Antiparos is preserved, it is the campsite and its beach. The campsite of Antiparos, one of the oldest in the Cyclades, first operated in 1978. While it has been a hangout for the young crowd for decades, it remains highly organized with plenty of spaces, a restaurant, a mini market, etc. and with direct access to a nudist beach beach.

Vathys Volos

Vathys Volos beach is located on the west side of Antiparos, near Agios Georgios, overlooking Despotiko and is quite popular. Access is by car. It is a small sandy beach, organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, water sports, beach bar, ideal for children. Vathys Volos is sometimes a stop for tourist boats going from Paros to Antiparos and Despotiko. Accommodations and taverns are in close proximity around this beach.

Glyfa beach

Glyfa beach is located on the eastern side of Antiparos and is one of the busiest on the island. Access is by car and bus. It is large, with thick sand, partially organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, cafe, windsurfing school, natural shade from tamarisk trees, ideal for children. The beach is known for its pristine natural environment, suitable for those looking for a calm and relaxing swim. The area has several lodgings and taverns

Despotiko

The uninhabited island of Despotiko is located on the western side of Antiparos, opposite Agios Georgios, with archaeological interest and beautiful clean beaches. Access is by boat from Agios Georgios, with daily routes. Indicative beaches for swimming and quiet diving are Plakakia, the beach of Panagia and the popular beach is Livadi with silver sand.

Epitafios beach

Epitafios beach is located on the west side of Antiparos, behind one of the sea caves located in the area of Agios Georgios, near the seal cave. Access is only by boat. The experience is unique, since the beach is surrounded by towering white vertical rocks, turquoise waters and sea caves.

Fanari beach

Fanari beach is located on the eastern side of Antiparos, between Psaralyki 1 and 2. Access is by car to a point and a dirt road of about 2 km that needs a little care. It is a small beach well protected from the wind, ideal for children, natural shade from tamarisk trees, few water sports, beach bar with children’s playground, restaurant, sunbeds and umbrellas.

Faneromeni beach

Faneromeni beach is located in the southernmost part of Antiparos, also known as “Tou Garbi to Avlaki”, near the homonymous church. Access is via a difficult dirt road. It is a small beach in a small bay, with strange geological formations that offer shelter from the wind, ideal for diving, tranquility and relaxation. It has fine pebbles and small stones inside and outside the shore, unorganized, without shade.

Kako Rema beach

Kako Rema beach is located on the south side of Antiparos, near Agios Georgios. Access is by car or boat. It is one of the lesser known beaches of the island, ideal for relaxation and tranquility. It is a small beach with sand and pebbles and no wind and few accommodations. The uninhabited islet of Despotikos lies across the street and is a popular stopping point for small boat tours of the area.

Livadia beach

Livadia beach is located on the western side of Antiparos, after Kampos, which is the least developed side of the island and the most isolated. Access is not easy by car due to the poor quality of the road. It is large with sand, without shade and often blown by strong winds. Ideal for windsurfing and for those looking for peace and relaxation. There is not much accommodation in the area, apart from a few rooms for rent. For those who love walking there is a path that starts from the settlement of the same name.

Monastiri beach

Monastiri beach is located on the western side of Antiparos, enclosed in a small bay. Access is not easy for a conventional car because it has a difficult dirt road. It is a small beach with sand and pebbles, a beautiful seabed suitable for diving, 2-3 tamarisk trees for shade, prone to storms and ideal for windsurfing. Hidden next to it on the adjacent hill, is the Little Monastery which can be accessed by a relatively short path or by boat.

Panagia beach

Panagia beach is located on the northeast side of Antiparos in a large bay, after the two Psaralykes. Access is by car and bus. It is one of the most picturesque and large beaches of the island, with sand and fine pebbles, shallow waters, unorganized, natural shade from tamarisk trees, ideal for children and for relaxation. There is a very good tavern with traditional cuisine.

Psaralykes beaches

The Psaralykes beaches are located on the north side of Antiparos and are separated from each other by the Fanari beach. They are both windproof, because due to the position they are protected from almost all winds and are considered ideal for children. There are several accommodation facilities nearby.

Psaralyki beach is very close to Chora and can be reached by car or on foot, following the coastal path in a southerly direction, for a little more than 1 km. It is a bigger beach than Kato Psaralyki, with sand, shallow water, organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, beach bar, has water sports, beach tennis and natural shade from tamarisk trees.

Kato Psaraliki beach

Kato Psaraliki beach is located after Fanari beach and can be accessed by car or on foot following the coastal path in a southerly direction. more popular than the first, with sand, it is partially organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, has natural shade of tamarisk trees and is ideal for nudism. There is a tavern and two music clubs, which are open until the early hours of the morning and offer the right party atmosphere.

Sifneiko beach

Sifneiko beach is located on the northwest side of Antiparos, very close to Chora, in a large bay. It got its name from the island of Sifnos, due to the big waves. It is quite exposed to north and west winds and is therefore suitable for windsurfing.

Access is by car or on foot from Chora Square (500 m). It is large, with sand and seaweed in various places, a few stones entering its waters, natural shade from many tamarisk trees and ideal for diving. On the beach there is a children’s playground and stone terraces for relaxing and gazing out to Sifnos, known for its enchanting sunset. In the area there are restaurants and taverns and accommodation.

Soros beach

Soros beach is located on the eastern side of Antiparos and is the most popular beach of the island, overlooking Paros and Naxos. Access is by car and bus. It is picturesque with sand and fine pebbles, a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas. It is not recommended for families with small children, as in several places the depth becomes suddenly great.

The sea bottom is also sandy and the rocks at the southern end of the beach are the ideal place for diving enthusiasts. On the coast there are few tamarisk trees for natural shade. Next to it is the quiet bay with the beach of Mikros Soros, with fine gravel and a wonderful seabed, ideal for diving and nudism. Nearby there are two taverns with traditional island cuisine, fresh fish and meat and several accommodation facilities.

Sostis beach

Sostis beach is located on the southeast side of Antiparos, about 2km after Soros beach. Access is via a relatively passable dirt road. It is a small beach, with sand, ideal for diving and it is not organized. Continuing below the chapel of Faneromeni, visible rocks have created a shelter from the wind for tranquility and unique dives.

Theologos beach

Theologos or Camping beach is located on the north side of Antiparos, next to the campsite, very close to Chora. Access is by car. It gathers a lot of young people and nudism is officially allowed on one part of the beach. It is large, with sand and gravel, shallow water, partially organized and a canteen for the essentials. The area is surrounded by some greenery which creates a relaxing environment. Opposite is the uninhabited island of Diplos, where the depth of the sea between them is estimated at half a meter.
