Where to stay in Andros
Andros offers a variety of accommodation in hotels, apartments and rooms to let in all tourist resorts of the island. The are all types of accommodation in Gavrio, Batsi, Korthi and the Chora of Andros.
When you arrive by ferry at the port of Gavrio you’ll see loads of rooms to let signs along the waterfront and the large, well equipped Andros Holiday Hotel overlooking the beach. There’s also a camp site, 300 metres from the port.
But most visitors head south down the coast to Batsi where the highly tourist-orientated beach is flanked by hotels, apartments and rooms to let. Once again, you’ll see domatia signs all along the waterfront and in many cases these rooms present excellent value for money (it’s always worth bargaining to see if you can get the price down, especially out of high season).
The 61-room Chryssi Akti Hotel occupies a prime location right on the beach and offers a good range of facilities including a pool, TV room and comfortable bedrooms with air conditioning and balconies with sea views. The hotel also has 12 suites.
One of the best places to stay, especially for families, is the attractive A-category Epaminondas apartment complex located on a hillside overlooking the resort. There are 23 apartments, accommodating 2-6 people, with marble floors, embroidered curtains, kitchenettes and balconies with views of the bay. There’s a beautiful floodlit pool overlooking the sea.
Just round the bay from Batsi you’ll find the plush Anerousa Hotel, built above its own private beach. Guests have direct access to the beach via steps down from the hotel; there’s a beach bar, sun shades and loungers.
The nearby Blue Bay Village Hotel, just above Delavoia Beach, is another upmarket place to stay in a peaceful rural setting 20 minutes walk from Batsi. There are six maisonettes and 12 studios with good facilities including kitchenettes, air conditioning, satellite TV and balconies with sea views. A large floodlit pool and adjoining jacuzzi have wonderful views of the Aegean Sea.
Andros Town, on the other side of the island, has more than 50 registered rooms to let along with a plentiful supply of family run guest houses, self-catering apartments and top quality hotel accommodation. It’s relatively pricey here, especially in high season, because it’s the preferred destination for wealthy Athenians.
Karaoulanis Rooms, by Nimborio Beach, are good value for money – beautifully located self-catering apartments (just 15 metres from the sea) well equipped with kitchenettes, air conditioning, microwaves and TV.
Hotel Egli is a reasonably priced hotel right in the centre of the town, housed in a 100-year-old building which has been used as a hotel since 1955. Facilities are fairly basic but some rooms have fridges and balconies.
The most luxurious place to bed down for the night is the aptly named Paradise Hotel, half a kilometre outside the town. The hotel has an old-world elegance with high ceilings and four-poster beds framed with traditional Greek needlework curtains. But guests can enjoy all mod cons including a lovely swimming pool, satellite TV, air conditioning and 24-hour room service.
At unspoilt Ormos Korthiou, in the south east of the island, you can stay at Hotel Korthion right on the shore. Or escape the summer heat and head for sumptuous Hotel Pighi at Sariza (near the mountain springs where Andros mineral water is bottled).
All rooms have wonderful sea or mountain views and the hotel has superb facilities including an international restaurant, sauna, swimming pool and recreation room. This is the ideal base for exploring the island’s mountain trails and waterfalls while enjoying the sound of the famous local nightingales.
There are a number of traditional stone-built country houses and villas to rent, either through local travel agents or direct from the owners, in peaceful areas away from the more popular tourist spots.

Vassiliki studios Andros
All air-conditioned units at Vassiliki include a kitchenette with a fridge, cooking hobs and microwave. Each is equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV. The private bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer.
Guests can relax on the furnished sun terrace. A playground is available for younger guests.
Vassiliki Studios is just 50m away. from restaurants, bars and shops. The Monastery of Agia Marina is 1.5 km. far away. The property has public and private parking. Andros Town is 500 meters away. The port of Gavrio is 35 km away.

All units have a seating area. Some have a dining area and/or terrace. There is a kitchen with oven, fridge, hotplates and coffee maker.
Each unit has a private bathroom with a bath or shower and free toiletries. Bed linen is included. Maltabe Studios opens onto a sun terrace.

Chrysi Ammos beach is located 4 km. far away. At a distance of 40m. there is a bus stop that provides connections to the port of Gavrio, 6 km away.
