The village of Souvala in Aegina

souvala Souvala is a destination in Aegina that has not lost its traditional Greek character, despite tourism. It is a quiet place, away from cosmopolitan hangouts, while also being a starting point for hikes for the more energetic visitors. It is located near the most important attractions of the island, the Temple of Aphaia, the medieval Paliachora and Agios Nektarios.

After Vathi the road descends towards Souvala, a small port in the north of the island 10 kilometers from the city of Aegina. Souvala is a beautiful traditional fishing village with a beach, nice taverns, bars, cafes, hotels, rooms for rent as well as apartments. It is a wonderful holiday resort, full of life and movement.

souvalaIn Souvala there is a beach with warm thermal waters, known by the old name Therma, a sulphurous hot spring suitable for the treatment of rheumatism and skin diseases.

Just one kilometer after Souvala, to the east, along the coast, there is the holiday village of Agioi in a green environment and at 5 kilometers the village of Vaya, an organized sandy beach, with archaeological finds.

Souvala has an abundance of taverns, cafes, shops, so you will not be short of options, while once a year it becomes the focus of Aegina as in July, the Marida Festival is organized with grills of many kilos of this small fish that they offer for free accompanied by music
