Nyx

The goddess of the night, who was born out of Chaos together with her brother Erebus. According to some myths she was Eros' daughter.

Both men and gods feared her and stood under her powers. She was wearing a long, dark dress, with stars shining through and around it, and she rode a chariot. She had wings, and she was worshipped everywhere. A statue of her stood in Eleusis.

Nyx lived in the underworld, Hades, and had many children. With her brother she had Aether and Himera (day), and on her own she had Ceres, Eris, the Eumenides, the Moirae, Nemesis, Oneirata (Dreams), Hypnos (Sleep), Thanatos (Death) and Oizys (Distress).
