The village of Aperi in Karpathos

The small rural village of Pyles and the town of Karpathos (Pigadia), were historically created within the wider geographical boundaries of Aperio and primarily by residents of that particular village.
The pebbly beaches of Achata, Kyra Panagia, Kato Lakkos and Makris Gialos belong to Aperi. In the north-eastern part of the Community, the landscape is characterized by wild and high forested mountains overlooking the Carpathian Sea.
It is worth taking a walk in Aperi and admiring its beauties. Walk the streets of the village, admire the imposing mansions, the churches and the vast green areas that surround the village. Following the paths of the village you will reach the wonderful beaches of Achata and the famous Kyra Panagia. It is one of the most famous of the island and one of the most photographed landscapes of Karpathos.
You will swim in their transparent waters and relax on the endless sandy beach enjoying the sun and the wonderful nature. In the small village of Volada, you will see the remains of three castles built in different time periods.
