Aegiali things to do and see
Aegiali is located north of the island of Amorgos, it is the second port of Amorgos, and there are three picturesque villages on its mountain slopes: Tholaria, Lagkada, Potamos, and the old settlement of Stroumbos.
Aegiali is a traditional settlement with narrow alleys, arches, and taverns offering traditional food. At the eastern entrance of the village, you’ll find Loza Square, which serves as a gathering place for village celebrations.

The churches in this picturesque settlement include Agia Sofia with its two domes and Panagia Akathi, also known as Aivaliotissa.

It is the newest settlement of Amorgos since, in the past, due to fear of pirates, villages were built inland rather than near the sea.

What to do
Attractions in Aegiali include the chapel of Panagitsa, a windmill at the edge of the harbor, and tall stone walls that were once significant Roman installations.
From Ormos, many hiking trails start, offering beautiful landscapes filled with herbs and flowers for which Amorgos is renowned.
