Mykonos is one of the Cyclades islands and belongs to the prefecture of the Cyclades and in the province of Syros.
It has an area of 85,48 sq km and a population of 5,365 inhabitants . Mykonos located east of syros and south of Tinos. The island is barren and only produces wine, honey, and a kind of cheese, kopanisti. The subsoil has deposits of iron manganese, copper and galena.
Today Mykonos is heavily tourist developed especially during the summer months..
