Cape Kastellos is the southernmost point of the island. It still maintains moderately dense and sparser pine forests in the north and in the central-west of the island.<\/p>\n<p>The intense relief gives the visitor landscapes of special natural beauty, combining the beauty of the mountain and the sea. High mountains on one side and steep ravines on the other. On the rocks and rocky coasts there are the Black-headed Gull and the Aegean Gull, two endangered species of birds.
