The Dodecanese is a group of islands in the southeastern Aegean Sea as we see on the Map. They name Dodecanese means 12 islands from the Greek Dodeca (twelve) and Nisia (islands). The total population of the Dodecanese prefecture reaches 190,071 inhabitants.

The Dodecanese islands have a total area of 2579,275 square kilometers. There are frequent ferry connections with all islands by ferries and direct flights from Athens, there are airports in many of the tose islands, such as Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Karpathos and Kasos.The largest in the Dodecanese and capital of the Dodecanese prefecture is Rhodes.
