Santorini Airport

The airport of Santorini lies in the Southeast of the island near to Aghia Paraskevi to the south is Kamari and to the north is the villages of Monolithos. The airport is at a distance of ca 5 km from the capital of the island Fira.
The airport was used firstly as a military one and from 1972 was used also for civil flights. The airport has one main runway 2125 meters long and an another taxiway and aircraft parking apron capacity for 6 airplanes. The terminal building was build in 1989. The airport of Santorini has among other services a duty free shop, restaurants , cafeterias and several travel and car hire agencies. During the winter season serves flights mainly from Athens and Thessaloniki of the Olympic airlines and the Aegean air. During the summer the airport get busy with international flights and charters from many European airports.
There are frequent daily bus services from Fira the journey takes about 15-20 minutes.
