St. Martha
(d.c.80)

The sister of Lazarus and Mary Magdalene, or perhaps Mary of Bethany, who might actually be the same person as Magdalene.

According to Luke (10:38) she and her sister hosted Jesus in their home, and Martha was the one to make all the preparations, which she complained about to the Lord.

She is also mentioned in John 11:2, when Jesus resurrects her brother.
St. Martha is considered the patron saint of housewives, and in art she is often dressed as one. She sometimes is pictured holding keys.
