Here are a few words that are used in many western languages
that are actually Greek. I have read somewhere that 20% of the
English language is of Greek origin! If you have had a look a
the alphabet, here is a chance to read Greek. Can you translate
the word? If yes, then you have succeeded in reading it!
You might wonder what those accents are for. They're the
emphasis marks: where the accent is you put the emphasis. This
is a bit tricky in Greek since the emphasis almost always seems
to be in the wrong place. For example in English we say tAxi but
in Greek it's taxEE. Putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable
