Paros beaches

Paros owns a lot of its tourist fame and development in the numerous golden sand beaches that are all around the island. The winds are ideal for wind surfing and some of its beaches are competing some of the most popular of the neighbouring Mykonos. Most of the beaches have access with public buses and other you can go by your car or by scooter.

The beach of Aliki is not overcrowded like other popular beaches in Paros, the beach is nice and sandy and ideal for those that have children and want to enjoy the sunbathing and swimming in a relaxing and quite beach. Near by you will find restaurants and taverns where you can enjoy Greek dishes and sea food. Aliki is connected with Paroikia with bus.

Kolymbithres beach is one of the popular beaches of Paros, it is located north of Naoussa. The beach is surrounded by big granite rocks with a smooth shape, within the rocks are many fine sand beaches like small lakes ideal for swimming and sunbathing . The waters are crystal with an amazing aquamarine color. The beach is covered from the noth winds and many times while the Meltemi blows in other places here you will find calm sea. Kolymbithres like most of the beaches of Paros is well organised with umbrellas and sun beds and water sport activities. Near by you can eat and drink after the fun in the beach.

Near to Kolymbithres you will find the Monastiri beach in a wonderful cove. The beach is sandy and the sea is not deep, the beach is organized with umbrellas and sun beds. Near to the beach there are bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a drink or to have lunch. This beach is recommended for families with children as it is not overcrowded and the waters are not deep.

The beach of Logaras located on the east coast of the island at the tourist resort of Logaras that owns its tourism and development to this wonderful sandy beach, many they say that this is one of the best beaches in Paros. Logaras beach has many facilities for water sports and is awarded with the European Union blue flag for its clear environment, waters and tourist facilities.

A few miles from Parikia is the famous Pounda Beach, most polpular among the young people. Pounda beach has many similarities with the Paradise beach in Mykonos, the beach parties all day long with loud music from the beach bars of Pounta. The beach of Pounta is large and sandy and has many options for water sports like diving, windsurfing and paragliding.

About 15 miles east of Parikia is the small sandy beach of Molos, a real natural paradise with blue waters and golden sand overlooking the island of Naxos. The beach is quiet because is remote and there is no buses going there. the beach is not organised and you can bring your swim equipments with like umbrellas and beach towels. It is a wonderful beach and highly recommended for those that want a quite location away from the tourist crowds

Golden beach is probably the most famous worldwide beach of Paros, because the beach is a paradise for wind surfers. Each year wind surfers from all over the world are coming here to enjoy one of the most unique beaches in Greece for that sport. In golden beach are organised wind surfing championships. The half mile sandy beach is very well organised with all kind of facilities. Because of the young fans of the water sports there are many beach bars and all day long parties like those in Pounta.

Another quite and remote beach is the beach of Agia Irini, The beach is sandy and has many tamarisk trees and some palm trees that offer nice shadow in the hot days of the summer. You can get there from Parikia with public transport or by taxi. Because of the trees you can take some snacks with you for a picnic under the tamarisks.

Parasporos beach is located very near from Parikia, the beach is another popular place for young people and there is a lot of action with beach parties. the beach is very well organised with umbrellas and sun beds and you can enjoy the sun and the sea as well as dancing in the beach bar.

Other interesting beaches is the beach of Drios, the Agios Fokas beach, the two Piperia beaches the beach in Piso Livadi, the beach of the resort of Abelas, the beach of Santa Maria, all with nice golden sand and accessible by car, taxi or public transport.
