Eating out in Mykonos
In Mykonos town you will find most of the eateries and restaurants. At the end of Enoplon Dynameon Street leading up to Laka there are various souvlaki shops and creperies where you can eat quiet good for just a few Euros. These small, cheaper places to eat continue down to Metropoleos Street, leading towards the seafront and Little Venice. For more substantial food this street also has some good old taverns like Kostas and Giavroukos which are still very reasonable. Turning left out of Kostas Taverna leads you into Alefkandra and Little Venice. Here too, you can enjoy Italian food at Casa di Giorgio which is located between three tiny churches and enjoys the shade of a huge plane tree. Directly under the windmills, facing the blue Aegean is Alefkandra Restaurant, one of the oldest in the town, established here since 1964 and still very popular selling a variety of Greek and Italian dishes at very reasonable prices. In the early evening it is the perfect site to watch the setting sun and admire the views of the old windmills creeping up the hillside. Near to Paraportiani church you will find the Nikos restaurant, with tasty Greek dishes, also a good place for fish food.
As you walk around Kastro you can delight in the panoramic views of the illuminated beachfront of Mykonos Town, a magical view of the 'Lady of the Cyclades' in her high glory; cafes, restaurants and shops all illuminate her night sky like sequins on her gown of midnight blue velvet. At the sea front you can stop for a coffee or a meal at Kadena, one of the oldest cafes of the town under the old Customs Office which now like most of the old cafes have been transformed to a cafe restaurant. Further on from both sides of the Agios Nikolaos church, several cafe-restaurants offer drinks and meals in prices that are very normal for a cosmopolitan island like Mykonos. Check for the day's menu that offers cheaper prices. Gialos, Madoura, Kazarma, Rouvera, Mouragia and many other eateries are next to each other along the Akti Kabani . Under the Argo bar in Manto square the elegant Restaurant Kamares and a a little bit further towards the stairs the Antonini's restaurant one of the oldest in Mykonos. For fast food in the same area you will find Deli and the Greek franchise Everest where you can enjoy cheese pies (try the Kouros cheese pie) and various sandwiches. At Matogianni street a few meters from the church of Agia Kyriaki is the Italian restaurant La Casa, very tasty Italian specialities all served with a small plate of Pesto. Under the famous Remezzo bar the restaurant bar Kavos is open 24 hours and next to it right on the beach front you will find the fish tavern Baboulas with a real fishing boat as decoration. On the other side of those two is the elegant restaurant Leto within the premises of Leto Hotel. But the eateries are not finishing here, numerous are on the other side of the town from Fabrika where the buses stop until down to Laka and around the small wi
